Mer Song was 7 months pregnant when she came to COF for help. She had 2 children of school age and felt that her family was suffering because of her husband's anger and excessive drinking. She was undernourished and needed care. The husband came to look for his family and desperately wanted them back. However, he was not able to provide for his family as he had lost his job.

After several family counselling sessions, the husband and wife felt they wanted to be a family again. COF workers and the husband helped to repair their house, and we helped him find work in Sangklaburi. Two months after the baby was born, the mother and children went back home. The father now travels around Sangklaburi as an ice cream vendor and also catches fish to sell to the local market. We give support with rice and school uniforms when needed.
