Rodtoo Story

Rodtoo is in Grade 2 at the COF Free School. She lives with her parents, two brothers, and two sisters in a fragile bamboo house near a plantation community. Although their home is close to modern amenities, the family lives without electricity, a refrigerator, a gas stove, or a private bathroom. They share washing facilities with neighbours and rely on canal water for bathing, using a neighbour’s well during the dry season.

Despite these hardships, Rodtoo is a bright, determined child who approaches every day with resilience. Her COF teachers admire her kindness, her polite manner, and her eagerness to learn. She dreams of one day becoming a nurse so she can care for the sick and vulnerable in her community. She never complains about her torn school bag, old clothes, or worn shoes, and she carries herself with quiet dignity.

Next year, Rodtoo will  transfer to a Thai government school, which will bring fresh challenges, especially with education-related expenses her family cannot afford. COF is committed to helping Rodtoo continue her education and supporting her every step of the way—hopefully all the way to fulfilling her dream of becoming a nurse.
