English language program at COF

The children here love learning to communicate in English. As English is already their third or fourth language they also tend to be very good at it. At school and university English skills can be a great source of confidence, especially when a child or a young adult might be struggling in other subjects after all many of the stateless children we work with are forced by circumstance to start their schooling very late. Finally, after completing their education, students with strong English ability enter the job market with a skill few Thais posses. Over the years Children of the Forest has seen examples of how English has inspired, empowered and transformed countless stateless children’s lives. The basic English program we run at our school for stateless children is certainly an area that we are very interested to invest in more for the positive future of stateless children on the Thai Myanmar border.
